Announcements July 29, 2010

1. Featured this week at the Urban Garden Market:
Stormy weather forced the cancellation of last Saturday's “hoopJAM” at the Urban Garden Market, but we'll have a second chance next Saturday, July 31st from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A hoopJAM spontaneously occurs when a large number of hula hoops arrive at any given location.  Hula hoop dance is fast becoming a modern form of fun, exercise, community building and creative expression. Join Kelly Strycker & South Bend Drum Circle for a Saturday in a hoop or on a drum. Adult and kids hoops will be available to borrow or to purchase.  All are welcome!  Ms Stryker will also explain her craft of custom made hoops.
In addition, Edie Sutton, from Purdue Extension, will demonstrate the preparation of seasonal food available at the Market, providing a taste and a recipe for you to try.
The Urban Garden Market is open from 9:00 am– 1:00 pm and offers fresh produce, various baked goods, food products, flowers and herbs.  We're located at 1025 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend,  (Just south of Lincoln Way West)
Visit the "Save the Library" table
