Upcoming Events at the LaSalle Branch Library

SJC Bridges Out of Poverty
presents Unnatural Causes
a PBS film series about the health of your community, your workplace, your neighborhood and your schools
Episode 1, "In Sickness and in Wealth"
Thursday, December 2, 6 – 8 PM
LaSalle Branch Library

In Spring 2011, in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College, SJC Bridges Out of Poverty
will show and discuss each episode over two months of Mondays.  "The video powerfully challenges
a culture that is obsessed with diets, exercise and personal responsibility for determining health.
Evidence suggests more equitable social policies, secure living-wage jobs, affordable housing, racial justice,
good schools, community empowerment, and family support are health issues just as critical as
diet, tobacco use, and exercise."
